At Parcel2Go, I’ve spent the past three years in a multi-disciplinary design role that bridges UX/UI and brand. I’ve led key UX/UI projects, overseen marketing campaigns, and taken ownership of our brand guidelines, shaping how the company looks and feels across every touchpoint.

Alongside that, I’ve expanded my creative skill set, combining visual design with motion and 3D, using tools like Blender, After Effects, and Premiere Pro to push our brand identity in new directions.

This role has helped me grow both creatively and professionally. As I take on more responsibility, I’m focused on stepping fully into a lead designer role and continuing to evolve the brand from the inside out.

Modular UX for Global Couriers & Marketplaces.

Modular UX for Global Couriers & Marketplaces.

One of the bigger projects I’ve led at Parcel2Go is a multi-brand UX/UI white-label system and style guide. Over the last few years, I’ve designed and developed a flexible setup that lets me and the team quickly create user journeys tailored to specific major brands; mostly global couriers, with a few marketplaces too. It started as a midweight, non-branded wireframe based on Parcel2Go’s core functionality, and it’s since evolved to support brand-specific user journeys and adapt to changes in tech. The system is currently in use or set up for six different brands.

Initial Objective

In 2023, I was given the task of creating user journeys for the Post Office and FedEx, with the initial goal of getting both ready in time for dev sprints. But after comparing their sitemaps, I noticed how much overlap there was between the two. That’s when I decided to build a ‘non-branded’ version, something that eventually became the White Label Master Journey. A central catalogue of synced user flows that could be easily adapted with brand-specific styling like spacing, colour, and fonts.

Figma Tokenised System

Figma Tokenised System

During this project, Figma coincidentally released its new colour token system called Variables. The timing was spot on, it launched right as I was completing the Post Office work and moving into the FedEx project. I duplicated my Post Office style guide and created a new mode called Unbranded, which acted as a wireframe-style colour scheme to test how the system worked. Once I got everything working, I created another mode for FedEx. This gave me a huge head start, as I could reuse connected elements from the Post Office style guide and develop them into personalised journeys for FedEx.

Early stage white label planning:

Challenge: Navigating around an early-stage white label.

Solution: Balanced modern design elements while minimising unique components to streamline development efforts.

Managing multiple dev squads and iterative design for dev discoveries:

Challenge: Overseeing up to 5 groups of developers and discovering unique instances during development.

Solution: Scheduled group huddles which addressed both challenges, active Jira cards and just keeping up with individuals on Teams. This enabled quick resolutions and adjustments to the design system which ensured consistency between the designs and the build.

Addressing specific design requests from the Post Office:

Challenge: Incorporating unique design requests from the Post Office while balancing sprint times. Maintaining alignment with the white-label master system.

Solution: Balancing requests through team discussions while making sure to maintain alignment with the white-label master system. This allows for the reduction of use of unique components

We went through several rounds of collaboration with developers to keep everything consistent across teams. End-of-project retrospectives highlighted how much this improved efficiency and the overall quality of the work.

According to the lead management of the FedEx project, "The design team produced more designs for this project than any other. The overall look of the site is really good. There were fewer questions from the team than previously due to the quality of what they had. In particular, I’d like to call out the mobile experience which I think is comfortably our best yet."

The feedback was excellent in terms of the design - (now signed off by the Brand Team in the US), the functionality and overall UX which their own IT team described as 'way better than anything we've got or done on fedex.com'.

"Equally, they were impressed by our responsiveness when turning around updates. Especially seeing the updates happen live on the call while they discussed options." - My Project Leader

How the Project has Evolved.

How the Project has Evolved.

Since that initial project, the design system has continued to grow, now supporting multiple global couriers and some online marketplaces too. It’s been adapted for everything from single-courier setups to more complex, multi-option journeys, covering both domestic and international deliveries.

One of the biggest advantages of building it this way is the head start it gives us when we take on a new brand. Plus, any UX updates or journey improvements can be rolled out across all connected systems, keeping everything consistent and efficient.

More recently, my team have taken the layout and system controls from this white-label setup to help shape the next wave of design systems, ones that will eventually update and improve on the current builds we support.
